Sewing Saturday? What’s your plan?

It’s looking like I might actually get time to sew today! I’ve so many projects on the go, I’m trying to decide which one gets my attention on this rare day with free time. I do need to do a bit of gardening though, cut things down before the birds start their nests

What are you up to today?

I have an Endless Summer tee that I did a shockingly bad job sewing on the collar earlier this week. I unpicked that last night so my goal for today is to get that fixed and then finished.

I also cut out a Jordan Bra yesterday that I’ll try to start sewing today.

I have a lot of non-sewing things I need to do today so I’m not convinced I’ll get either of them done! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hubby requested a crochet toothless dragon, I’m making him take me to our local yarn shop.

After that imma probably come home and make my Spacey Sirocco jumpsuit, and then maybe unpick and finish my Reece corset top.

Tomorrow I might cut out and maybe sew a bee themed Sirocco jumpsuit and matching pants!

Good going Anna! Have you tried that pattern before or first run?

It’s a first run! I did the muslin back in November and I’m finally making the real thing

Going to finish a muslin and make adjustments to the pattern for the final make. At least that’s what I hope to do!

I’m going to start the above knee length Matchy Matchy Skipper Dress in Double Gauze. I am varying the pattern to my own style by lengthen it a couple of inches and lengthening the bodice which is designed to stop at the top of the bust. As a ‘well endowed’ woman. It would look like a tent on me otherwise. It should be ideal as a quick pull on dress for my week in Tenerife. We fly out on Friday for a bit of warmth and sunshine

Yesterday, I’ve prepared my paper pattern for a Kalle shirt with long sleeves (Closet Core Patterns). This means that I have applied adjustments for high and low rounded back. I also have cut canvas abric for my toile. And today morning, I’ve sewn my toile to check the size and the rounded back adjustments. Seems to be ok but I will add the band collar and one sleeve to be sure.

Have you made the Jordan Bra before? It looks comfy but I’m wondering how the fit is. I’ve done the Lana Bra and did not get the right fit.

That does sound nice Annie, and enjoy your break in the warm!

Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

No, not yet, and never before. I don’t generally wear one as I’m fairly small and WFH, so I’m just looking for something to wear under more form-fitting things as opposed to needing any support.

So far I only got the pieces cut out. My weekend plans got a little derailed!

Normally I am a garment sewer, but I dable in household stuff too.
What about you?

Why not try one of the Instagram sewing challenges - Yvette has them listed on the app. Several are about sewing up what you have, choosing certain themes, WIPs etc.
