We’ve got a whole day of the Sew Sorted course dedicated to fabric scraps. I’m excited to share ideas about how to decide which scraps to keep and how to organise them.
My approach is very project-centric, as it’s much more inspiring to organise a collection that you can actually see yourself using. So I thought I’d get the ball rolling early with some scrap-busting sewing ideas.
One super popular option is making a pouffe - as you can use scraps for the stuffing as well as the exterior.

I made my own pattern for a small pouffe/footstool that I already have. I made a couple and gave them away as housewarming gifts - such a win-win as it got loads of scraps out of my home and felt like a generous gift in the process! I would say that these pouffes can get very heavy, and be quite solid if you just use scraps. I put a cushion inside before adding the scraps so it would be more comfy to sit on.

If I have scraps of cotton lycra I cut pattern pieces for boxershorts for my husband straight away. He has boxers in all colours of the rainbow and all kind of prints (even pink flowers and is wearing them with pride 
)
Smaller scraps become children’s underwear to donate to a local charity.

SewCanShe has so many free patterns that are brilliant for scraps! I also love the phone & Things and the Jas Bag by Sew Pretty Sew Mindful, but im bias as I designed it.
Scrap busting and additional storage, great idea! The Jas bag looks like it would be great for transporting sewing supplies to socials and retreats.
