I’ve updated my phone and tablet (both Android) to the new version, and I also use a mac (Chrome) and this is what I see when I open a project:
It appears to be automatically opening the edit mode. (the save button appears on the bottom right off the image). If I click save, it switches to the view mode. It does this every time, on every device, but only for projects.
