I’m fairly new to StashHub, and English isn’t my native language (that would be Dutch). I’m wondering how other non-native speakers use StashHub. Do you use the names of colours, fabrics, patterns, tags, etc. in English or in your native language? Which would be most convenient?
I write in Swedish in the notes section, but use the pre-existing english for fabric types.
I mostly use Finnish but I realised that if I use English words for the colours of the fabrics the Stats page uses the same colour in the pie charts. Also if I use magic input I sometimes get the information in English and let it be so (I don’t really filter stuff based on fabric type or design where that could cause issues).
Thank you for your answer. The Pie chart is indeed a good reason to use the English names for colours. I’m still hesitating for garment type and design features.
I’m German but mostly use English on stash hub. Also partly because of the colour thing ![]()
But I also use a lot of international patterns
I mix and match Mixing up words and grammar in one sentence.
I too am Dutch but technically bi-lingual
My mixing and matching can end up being a puzzle for me on occasion.
I’m Swiss, and speak/write in multiple languages. In SH, I use English overall as I have found that the corelation between the App and Data in English are more accurate.
Note:
All of my patterns are in English as well as the data.
Fabrics I buy from France or Italy, I translate the info into English
Bottom Line, English for all data entered making it cohesive data set.
