Hi does anyone do this and has anyone ever cancelled and rejoined? I’m a bit overwhelmed with fabric so I think I need a break. However not forever - I have a bit of FOMO. Is it easy to rejoin or has anyone found they had a super long wait? Thanks!
[EDIT by Moderator @ClaireSews - I’ve added a picture below to add context for anyone unfamiliar with the subscription box service .]
I’m also a bit overwhelmed with fabric, but (aside from my recent mid winter lack of sewjo). I tend to make about one garment a week, for myself and my husband. Therefore, as long as I don’t buy anymore for a while, I’m sticking with my Think Pink Subscription box. I have had about 4 now and I’ve loved every one. I subscribed to a different fabric subscription box previously and, although it helped me to explore other fabric types (I was very knew to sewing), at least 2/3 of the fabric just wasn’t to my taste. The TPSB really works for my taste and, based on the excellent quality, it’s so well priced.
I imagine if you cancel, you would just have to await another opening again in order to subscribe. It seems that she only produces so many. I’m not sure how often the number is increased. When I requested a subscription, I think I only had to wait about 2 or 3 months for it to be started.
Thank you, I love my monthly surprise but have to be realistic as don’t have the storage space. The FOMO is very real, plus the enjoyment but I’m a slow sewer and I need to sew what I have. It will be tough but hopefully I can rejoin without too much wait.
Appreciate your response x
My weakness is when my favourite fabric shop (Simple Life Fabric), which is already really well priced, has something on sale. Sarah, the owner, plans to retire in early summer. She will have a major sale before then and I will have to buy fabric then. At least she won’t be tempting me after that.
Thank you. I mostly sew tops, as I generally have 2.5m fabric but am open to everything. The mystery box is fun as it takes me out of my comfort zone. And is exciting
Agree regarding vouchers plus have 15 fabrics and no storage space
Only 15! You are so disciplined. I have so, so much. Enough to last me for years I am being very strict with myself now though (aside from keeping my TPSB). Thanks for sharing the video. I enjoyed watching it, but I’m not tempted. There was too much that I wouldn’t use and I’m sure that would be the same for all of them. I don’t wear synthetics, or black and would never use the lace.
Have you tried any of the Matchy Matchy Sewing Club patterns? One of my favourites patterns overall is their Perfect Puff Sleeve Top (I’ve made 4 or 5) and I like some if their others too.
