T-shirt with appliqué letters

My closet core Tee (free pattern) with some letters made from scraps from other projects. (YouTube SharonSews)
My inspiration was a Sézane t-shirt.
I’m finding it difficult to share my projects with all that’s going on in the world. It seems so frivolous.

I think if you find joy in it, you should share it. Its not frivolous, i sew for my mental health. Without sewing and sharing with my communities id be in a bad place. Hold on to the joy xx

Yes, holding on to the joy, taking care of our own mental health. I am so glad I have a hobby that brings me joy and a community to share it with

Thanks, I can’t stop making letters now. Too many scraps :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Love the applique! I did similar with scraps but mine didn’t turn out quite as neat as yours :grinning:

I think its the extra row of stitching that keeps it neater.

I just went to Youtube to find the tutorial you mentioned - and I think it was the same one that I’d used and bookmarked at the time :slightly_smiling_face: Sew PATCHWORK Letters & Embellish a Sweatshirt ~ EASY Tutorial

I definitely need to go back and watch again before doing more letters. I love how it changes a simple plain tee into something unique.

I agree. I also love how you can match the letters with a skirt or pant you made.

Looks great. Sewing is never frivolous. It’s your downtime and most of the time you can’t control things around you. You can only do your bit for the world. Keep sewing

Thank you

I know what you mean, @Veronique . art like sewing is keeping me going but I appreciate you acknowledging that feeling, its real.
I pieced and quilted a couple banners about what a better world could look like and thats been a nice way to connect sewing to my politics (and an excuse to bring up The World in sewing spaces!) :two_hearts: wishing you and all of us the right combination of struggling for a better world, and comfort and ease.

It helps though, knowing I’m not alone. Knowing we all feel it. I hope it helps you too, you’re not alone

Totally this. Embrace the things that give you joy, we need the break from dealing with the disaster that the world around is right now. The sewing community is a lovely little bubble of joy.

Please share. It brings me a moment of joy, probably the same for others. I’m working on enjoying the small moments.
