Stash Hub Web Entry Problems! Manual text entry

Hi, @TheWizard - I’m having a big-time problem with Stash Hub on my PC via internet browser. I’ve tried troubleshooting it on my own, but I’ve gotten nowhere. Time to report the problem and ask for help!

This started about a week or so ago. I cannot enter text in the free-form text boxes when in edit mode. So, for example, I create a new fabric. It will let me enter the name without a problem. Then I click in the Description box, and it pulls up the Description entry pop-up. Nothing I type appears in the field. I have a blinking cursor, and it responds just fine when I click the formatting buttons at the top (ex: to turn on bold) but no matter what, it won’t allow me to enter text. I’ve clicked, double-clicked, clicked out and come back in … nothing.

I get the same behavior on the Notes long-form pop-up. Can’t type a thing. And it does this on Projects and Patterns as well. Also, it does this same thing when I try to edit an existing record, so it’s not just during new record creation.

I’m also seeing odd behavior on the Tags field. I click in it, and start typing, and I can get one or two characters in before the focus disappears from the field. Try it again, I can get a letter or two entered, and it deselects the field. I thought I was going crazy… The only way I can get it to work is to click on the field, and then double-click on it - then it’ll take my entry.

I primarily use Google Chrome as my web browser. I have cleared my cache. I have rebooted. I have tried using Microsoft Edge instead. Same behavior each time.

Please help! I feel like I’m missing a limb, not being able to enter these details on my projects and new fabrics!

Hi Angie.

This is obviously not good!! I appreciate you trying to find a solution first.

I can’t reproduce it unfortunately but a few extra things to try:

  • Incognito mode (this usually disables any extensions)
  • On your phone web browser
  • A different browser like Safari or Firefox (Edge is based on Chrome)

If you’re feeling brave, open a description field and try to type. Then open developer tools (F12) and copy and paste the contents inside the “Console” tab.

Contents of the Console Tab:

Image assets/images/app_icon_transparent.png finished loading
/patterns:1 is deprecated. Please include
rrweb-plugin-console-record.js:69 addPublicRecordDeepLinkProvider: null
rrweb-plugin-console-record.js:69 addMagicInputDeepLinkProvider: null
feature_collector.js:23 using deprecated parameters for the initialization function; pass a single object instead
N @ feature_collector.js:23

Well, that solved the problem! So I need to determine which of my web extensions was updated in the last week or two.

Thanks for getting me back up and running!
