Social media & sharing makes

As I’m sewing more I’m starting to think about joining challenges & I’m doing me made may for the first time. Got me thinking about social media & sharing on insta, do people have separate accounts for their sewing or just use their personal account? My insta is private & I don’t want to make that public but would like to share with the sewing community. Interested to know how others navigate it. As i mentioned it pics of me made may so far

I’d recommend creating a separate account just for sewing that you can make public. It’s very easy to switch between accounts on Instagram.

If you don’t have a public account, challenge hosts won’t be able to see your entries. I’ve got some tips for joining challenges in this blog post.

I dont have a separare account for instagram as its all about my sewing journey mainly but i dont have it linked to my facebook. I’m on a few private groups for sharing makes on fb.

I use Instagram to post my creation and Facebook is more for personal things.

I’m on quite a few facebook groups too. The ones for the indie pattern companies are great, lots of tips & advice on making different patterns & i like being able see lots of different versions of the patterns. My insta is more mixed.

I only have one IG account, and only post sewing stuff on it (and some community groups I’m a part of). It is public, so I’m cautious about what I post on it. If you use Ig for more personal stuff, I’d create a separate account.
