Repair ideas for elbow holes in fine knit cardigan?

Hi all,
I’m repairing a fine-knit wool cardigan with ladder holes at the elbows. The fabric is so delicate that stitching would likely show. I’m open to either discreet fixes or visible mending that makes a feature of the repair. It just needs to bend comfortably at the elbows.
I’m grateful for any suggestions, ideas or techniques you can recommend. Thanks!

There’s a recent episode of Check Your Thread podcast about mending knits - maybe there will be some helpful info in there

Flora Collingwood-Norris also does a lot of repairs on fine knitwear, and blogs about it and also has a book and some live and pre-recorded classes that might be of interest – but maybe start w the blog! Good luck!!
