I’ve not done any sewing for a long while now. I have been doing a lot of knitting though. My sewing space has gone AWOL. I could no longer work in there. Fed up with how difficult it is to get to everything and how little space there is.
I’ve decided on a complete change. I’ve got new IKEA storage and desk hopefully with space for everything. I’ve took the ironing board out and bought a table top one. I’ve also got a tall second hand book case to store my pdfs. Do far I’ve sorted out my patterns. Everything else is in boxes or stacked up waiting for the units to be built. I am also having a big clear out of stuff I know I will never use.
I am excited to start sewing in a more calmer sewing room. Here are some before pictures.
I’m with you! My craft room is absolute carnage at the moment and my mission now is to sort it so that it feels like a calm space to work in. Luckily I have a space that I can use for tracing patterns and cutting out fabric so I will “allow” myself small breaks from tidying to go there and trace or cut. Good luck with your sorting out!
I know what you mean, I periodically go through and tidy things up, I really am happier in a tidy space. A friend gave me a small filing cabinet which has been brilliant for storing patterns in.
