One make, Three challenges!

Really pleased with this super cute kids dress I made! Especially since it falls into three challenges this month, I learnt a new technique AND it’s going to be donated to charity!

Pattern: Elsie Dress by Easily Made Patterns. It’s got tie straps and an elasticated back. The actual pattern has more panels than this, so it’s an excellent scrap buster.

Fabric: The plain blue was a scrap from my stash, I think I picked it up at a swap. The floral is a remnant of Liberty from Fabrics Galore. I love how well they go together! Since I didn’t have a matching thread in my stash, I decided to do a fancy embroidery stitch on the pockets as an extra detail.

Since I used scraps to make a garment, this qualifies for Oh Scrap! @cinnamondaisystudio #OhScrap25

Appliqué: I was inspired to try Reverse Appliqué after visiting the Festival of Quilts recently. The flower design probably wasn’t the easiest place to start but I’m pleased with how it turned out. No raw edges! This feature makes this project perfect to enter into SAGAM: Appliqué August @suestoney @sewing_in_spain @velosews #SagamAppliqueAugust #Sagam

Charity: I’m going to donate this dress to Dress A Girl Around The World - they send dresses to girls in extreme poverty, it’s an amazing initiative! I’m sure you’ll hear lots more about it in September when Mari runs the Project Dress A Girl Challenge.

Every month you can share your makes to Instagram and tag @sewmuchtodesign with the monthly hashtag #MyMakesAug25 to be in with a chance of winning a prize for any make! So that’s my third challenge!

It was also my 170th project completed in Stash Hub :tada:
