New category for inventory of tools (fabrics, patterns, notions, tools)

A catergory to inventory tools would be really useful - to track machines and tools that you forget you have and accidentally rebuy, or just can’t remember where they live.

Hi, I use Notions for this.
You can add your own Notion type and subtypes to that if required.
Here are my notion types (definitely a work in progress). I long ago decided not to catalogue thread, zips, buttons.

To add a Notion Type click on the + sign on the Notions page. I don’t particularly worry about all the fields.

@InherentlyRed I do something very similar to @JD3205 - I use custom. Notion Types to manage my things like presser feet / machine attachments / sewing books / tools & gadgets / reference information.

I created a fresh new Topic to cover in depth how I do that

There is an existing item on the Roadmap called Add a notes/resources section #73

Quote: This would be for things that aren’t tied to any records. E.g. how someone has decided to structure the app

But, I dunno if/when/how that item gets rolled-out “if” it would work for things like presser feet / machine attachments / sewing books / tools & gadgets / reference information…soooo in the meantime I’m happy doin’ what I do with my way .

Notions definitely works for this, but a dedicated area would be so nice!!
It would be perfect for presser feet/grommet tools/rulers or for keeping track of things like how many extra rotary cutter blades you have!
