My latest finished projects

It’s been a bit slow in my sewing room, but I have managed to complete two projects recently.

My friend bought me the fabric used in the Patina blouse when she went to India many years ago. I used some of it at the time to make a top, then the rest went into stash.

@Wendy.Parker lovely makes!

Q: Are the pockets on the trousers machine or hand-embroidered please? If the former then I’m envious… I dont have the space to store one, nor the funds… But ive always fancied an machine that can embroider :joy:!

They are machine embroidered - my hand embroidery skills aren’t that good :joy:.

I bought an ex-display machine when I retired three years ago. Last year I upgraded to a newer model.

@Wendy.Parker oooohhh lucky you … :star_struck::star_struck::star_struck:! I’d get the urge to add machine embroidery to ALL THE THINGS!

I must admit I do use it a lot, so it was worth buying. I’ve made lots of things with it - a pincushion, scissor cases, containers, a baby quilt, a wall hanging - as well as embroidering pockets.

Gorgeous top - I love how you’ve found perfectly matching buttons!

I’m also jealous of your embroidery machine - great job on getting lots of use out of it! I’m sure there are so many that are just gathering dust in sewing rooms because people never got round to learning how to use it properly (a fear that puts me off getting one, as I know I don’t have time to get into it right now!)

Thank you - having a button tin that has been growing for over 50 years means there are some gems. I love my embroidery machine - I didn’t know how much you could do with one until I joined a local group.
