How I plan to record patterns from books 📖 into StashHub App 📲

[I originally shared this on the Facebook group on 11th January 2025. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15uZX5V3nb/]

I have a few books :open_book::blue_book::books: with patterns in them (Tilly and the Buttons: Stretch!, Cashmerette 1st book, a few Gertie books etc.) I haven’t listed them yet

But, this is my plan to record them…
:black_small_square: Designer: Combo of Book title n author (might be a bit long in words :joy:). Making sure I use the word “book” as part of the designer name (then without needing to use the Filter function I could type book into the Search bar :mag_right: and the app would show me anything with the word “book” in it’s name or in it’s designer name).

E.g. "Tilly and the Buttons: Stretch! book"

:black_small_square: Name (of the pattern): use the name in the book along with page number.
[
.If there’s no “fun” name then describe it myself]

E.g. "Frankie Baseball T-Shirt, Page XX"

If I had to describe that particular pattern myself then "Raglan Sleeve T-Shirt" or "Baseball T-Shirt".

Then, I’d need to remember to select the correct “Pattern Format” from the drop-down menu as “Book”.

Plus, photos :camera_flash: :framed_picture: can be taken from the book n uploaded into the app for the size Chart, fabric layout diagram, technical line drawing etc. etc. too . If you check the blog or website if the book’s author you can often find clear, crisp photos to download there (if your phone-photography skills aren’t up to scratch :camera_flash: :joy:).

Once I’ve created my first record of an individual “Pattern” from a specific book I can then use it as a template for subsequent other patterns from the same book :orange_book:… Just “Duplicate” it - and just tweak the details (saving time :watch: ).
