How best to add items to upcycle?

Hey folks :waving_hand:

I have quite a few items I’d like to upcycle and I’m wondering how best to add them to StashHub…

I know I can add them as projects but I don’t want to clutter that section up anymore until they’re a definite sewing plan.

Some of them are up in the attic. I don’t want to forget about them because out of sight, out of mind…

So I was thinking about maybe adding them as fabric. Then that way when scrolling for example to see what knits I have in teal, I’d see the top I planned to upcycle and could use it up…

But how best to do that? Would I hazard a guess at what measurements would’ve been required to make it so would show up if doing filtered searches?

Just add info to the notes of what I planned to do with it? Some might be things that need altering - others I might just like the fabric and it needs completely destructing and re-sewing.

Do you do this? If so how do you add and categorise?

Any ideas please? :light_bulb:

If it’s easy to estimate fabric size I’ll put it in otherwise I’d leave it blank or use the pre cut option Other. Put in a photo of the refashion item and I assign a tag Refashion or Upcycle. Put in as many notes as you like.

Oh good idea :+1:

I think unless a scarf or something flat it’s hard to estimate fabric size because would be in multiple pieces, eg front, back & sleeves of a top. If I add them together they might not fit the pattern pieces.

I’ve hardly any precut pieces - just a few fat quarters - so ‘other’ would work for filtering also.

Thank you! :folded_hands:

I have some shirts I thrifted that I will use as fabric. I added the shirt to fabric and chose “Precut” instead of “Length”. For “Type” I picked “Other” and for “Purchased Quantity” I picked 1 (1 piece).
