From tablecloth to tunic

A few weeks back I used the choose for me option, and it suggested a long-planned Piper tunic /coverup. While I was waiting for the fabric to come in, I made a shorter version out of an old tablecloth to test the fit. In the process of sewing it up I realized there are a couple small holes in it (which is why it was no longer a tablecloth, I thought I’d cut around them). The fit is perfect (I usually have to wrestle with woven tops to get the fit right) so I’m going to darn over the holes, and maybe add patch pockets. Fun to see the magic mockup and the final version. Because I didn’t photograph the exact parts of the tablecloth I used, the borders are a bit differently placed.

Here’s the mockup:

Looks awesome - I love the way you’ve placed the borders! This make would be perfect for the #SewBeyondBnB challenge (which encourages you to create garments using home textiles) so make sure to tag @mysewperpower if you share on Instagram and you could win a prize!
