I’m planning to go with Last Sewist Standing. I didn’t learn about it time to sign up on instagram but I seriously believe I can do it. Would love to know who else here is going with this challenge!
Last Sewist Standing doesn’t start until 14th Feb and Lise hasn’t opened sign ups yet so you’ll be able to join Last Sewist Standing this year! Best of luck, it will be great to sew through your stash!
I did LSS last year and since 14th Feb 2024, I’ve not bought any fabric, patterns or notions. I finished Lightweight as I requested an overlocker for my birthday/Christmas gift. Any patterns or fabrics went on my wishlist but I’ve not actually ended up buying them. Lise did some interviews on the Check Your Thread podcast which were good. Good luck!
Looking back on my makes last year, they were mainly remnants and scrappy makes, but I did use some whole pieces including part of the oldest piece in my stash (20+ years old). I won’t be in again this year, but I’ve got lots of creative things on the list to keep me busy so there probably won’t be much coming in anyway.
I am signing up for last sewest standing as soon as it opens. I had already decided af the beginning of the year that I was going to try and not buy any fabric all year. I just don’t have room and I don’t sew very fast so it is overwhelming. I am just ordering some interfacing because I only have black.
And that’s it.
As for patterns I’ve got loads and I have now got stitch School and I am going back to basics to try and improve my sewing. I am making a simple top at the moment which will qualify for February basics challenge.
I don’t know about the black Designers as I don’t know any.
Awesome, sounds like you’re all set for Last Sewist Standing! Good thinking to order interfacing in preparation.
This post has a great list of Black sewing pattern designers if you scroll down. This is actually a different challenge to the one I put in Stash Hub but very similar concept.
