Fabric used in projects

I am doing some color blocked tops so I am only using half the width of the fabric. If I update the fabric amount to the length I used then it would not show that I still have fabric available. Basically I am only using half the width of the fabric. Any suggestions on how to manage the left over fabric.

A couple of options:
1> This is the one I use for pocketing - reverse the width and length measurements.

This is half a metre of 140 wide fabric which was purchased for pocketing so I recorded it the other way around.

2> Classify the remainder as a remnant and put the remaining measurements in once you’ve updated the Cut figure. (I worked out last night that once it’s been updated with the cut figure, you can change the purchased length and it does not update the remaining length). You could also put the measurements in the fabric notes or description.

Hope this helps.

I would update the amount to the amount left. use a system so that you are measuring the leftover fabric the same way, for example Identify the width at the beginning then measure the yardage. then you know if you have a square piece or some other shape. hope this helps.
