Fabric Status Suggestion

Hello me again, here with another suggestion / request

Would it be possible to have another status added to fabric for something like ‘other’ or ‘hidden’. My thinking behind it is that I’ve got quite a few fabrics that I’ve taken out of my sewing room to store elsewhere to keep and use for toiles/test garments, but I don’t want to see them in my main fabric stash listings - I only want to see them if I go looking for them. Does that make sense?

I’ve added a location to them and can filter them out, but I’d much rather not have to filter every time. I don’t want to change them to destash as I’m using that for fabrics I plan on destashing.

Happy to listen to other suggestions as how to manage it for now :slightly_smiling_face:

How about marking them Scraps status and they disappear from the standard filter view? Ask me how I know :joy::joy: as I was sure I’d added scraps photos!

I thought I’d already got loads in scraps but looks like I’d just categorised them wrong as the few I’ve got in there are actually long gone in the fabric recycling

So scraps is a really good idea, that should work for me, thank you!

We do have an item on the roadmap to be able to “hide” records: Stash Hub Roadmap · GitHub

It agree, that is a good idéa. The only other I could think of was to keep them under notions and consider them a tool.

Yes I’ve the same issue with toile fabrics, it’d be nice to able to view them and filter fit the right type and size - but I don’t want them counted in my meterage or to see them when browsing fabrics.

If we hide fabrics, how would we see them again - would we be able to click one thing to view them all at once?

I’ve just had a look at the Notions and maybe that could work… I’ll give it a go when I get around to doing them at and point.
