Hi everyone, I bought some cotton Boucle from rainbow fabrics earlier in the year (they’ve just done another drop). It’s a lot drapier than I was expecting. Has anyone used this? Do I need to flatline or interline it? I have some cotton voile, would that work?
Hi you could try quilting the cotton voile to the boucle. I’ve got a cotton boucle and one plan (of many) was to quilt the cotton voile or batiste to the pieces after I’d cut them out very generously, then recut after the quilting was done. Quilting vertical lines only, nothing fancy. An alternative would be to block fuse the pieces with a very lightweight fusible interfacing. I’d do whole pieces as even the lightest interfacing can affect the feel of the fabric. Also zig zag round the edges once you’ve cut it out to preserve your sanity with fabric that’s liable to fray.

Quilting could work. I’ll experiment as I don’t want the stitches to show. I like the texture. You can see it in the picture.
Looks as if Gutermann 286 will disappear into this - one of my favourite colours😊
