Thought I would pop in and share this reversible wool waistcoat I made recently to go with two skirts I made last year, one being the yellow one I am wearing in the photo. The other side is a dark grey. Apologies for the mirror selfie
The other photo is my English Paper Piecing project I have on the go, it travels pretty much everywhere with me. Still a long way to go on this as I want to do a 1940’s inspired pair of overalls/long dungarees.
Wow I love this look! What kind of fabric did you use for it? And wich pattern did you use? The skirt is lovely too.
And I’m very curious about the outcome of you’r traveling project. Is it all handstitching?
Thanks, I really love this look! I used the Anne Waistcoat Ensemble pattern from Mood Fabrics, link below, I only printed out the waistcoat pieces as that was all I needed. I did have to make some tweaks to make it reversible. The skirt is just a half circle skirt.
As for the fabric, it’s a coating wool blend, it is 90% wool, I got it from a fabric store local to me that mostly sells dead stock fabric. The grey side is just a suiting wool. I lined it with a linen, so it is three layers thick, to give it some structure and help with the stretch of the wools.
Yes that EPP is all hand stitching, gives me a nice break from screens when I’m on lunch at work.
