Closet Core Pouf - Done!

Oh man, this took me all day!! But it’s worth it and it took all my scraps!!

Costings:

  1. Medium interfacing, approx 1.5m used: £5.77
  2. Zip: £0.80
  3. Piping, approx 1.5m used £2.17
  4. Extra strong thread spool: £4.65
  5. My time, approx 6h at £15ph: £90

Jeans were mine to upcycle, so didn’t cost anything.

Total: £103.77

For me though, it was valuable! It was my first zip in two years (realising now they’re not that scary and I’m being dramatic). It was also my first time using piping, which was both easier and harder than expected but I LOVE how it elevated this from being meh to pretty neat :sunglasses:.

It also ticks off one of my bingo squares, tackle mount scrapmore as this took ALL of them. It also counts as one of my three zip projects.

It’s beautiful! I’m doing a pouf as well but not this design. It isn’t full yet but this gives me inspiration to sew it up!
How heavy is your pouf?

I was surprised with how good it ended up looking!!

I’m not entirely sure on the weight of it rn as I have no working scales but I’d estimate in the region of 5-10kg, maybe more!

This looks great! I’ve looked at this pattern before, but wondered just how heavy it would be. Love the piping!

I asked the hubby for confirmation and he said 8-10kg but it could definitely take more!!

Wow looks fab! Did you use any stretch denim? I’ve got some old denim but some of it is stretch.

Most of it was stretch denim!! I did interface it, but I think it’s still stretched a little

You’ve inspired me. I’ve been toying with the idea of using scrap fabrics to make something like this and now you’ve directed me to the perfect pattern. It looks spick. Well done! Did you make your own piping or purchase shop bought.

Awww I’m glad to have inspired!!

The piping was store bought, was very lucky that they had the perfect one, actually!!

I would recommend getting/making around 1.8m!

I still “feed” my CCpouf from time to time, I love that it’s so great for scrap busting x
Yours is beautiful :star_struck:

Ha! Yes I also find mine could do with a top up feed, I’ve got a small bag ready for top up scraps!

Ah fab thank you. I was pondering on interfacing the stretch bits. I’ve been collecting denim and scraps for quite a while but some of it is stretch. I think it’s time to get started.

That turned out so nice! Great job. And leaves me inspired for one in my future.
