I made my parents Christmas Stockings as a holiday surprise!
I’ve always enjoyed opening my Christmas stocking, ever since I was a kid. My mum still gets me stocking presents now. She even does one for Doug (and my brother’s cat!). And yet, neither of my parents have EVER had their own stocking!!
I was inspired to make my mum a stocking after seeing this really cute patchwork-y pink design at the Festival of Quilts in August. I was lucky to pick up the red and green holly fabric at the Surrey Sews fabric swap I helped organise in November.
The pattern is FREE from Waves and Wild (currently still available here). It makes quite a big stocking, so I had to get some larger presents to fill it up. I found it easy to buy nice things for my mum but shopping for men is so much harder! My dad ended up with some fairly uninteresting-but-practical gifts (like batteries) and a bottle of Ribena
Both parents seemed happy with their handmade stockings and the random gifts, so I’m calling it a win all round haha.
