'Challenges' - (1) searching, & (2) way to hide older records, i.e.: "Archive" and/or "Mark as Completed"

Hi @thewizard, I was just scrolling the landing page for Challenges and it occurred to me that it would be handy to have a way to archive Challenges that the end-date has expired on. This would save scrolling past loads of years-past Challenges :joy:.

It’d also be great to be able to Search :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Challenges by name/title.

This is further to the already existing 2x items on the current app Roadmap :

:black_small_square: Perhaps they could archive automatically (based upon the expiration date set within an individual Challenge record)?
:black_small_square: Perhaps they could (similar to the style/feature used for Projects) be marked manually as ā€˜Completed + Archived’… Which could then automatically archive the Challenge. (Useful for when a User knows they no longer wish to participate in a Challenge - but they want to be able to reference the archived information still.)
:black_small_square: And, or manually marked as ā€˜Archived’ - e.g. you saved the Challenge, thought that you’d get around to participating, forgot about it (hullo :woman_raising_hand:t2:it’s me :joy:). But, you want to participate in next year’s version :crossed_fingers:t3: - so you need to keep the record of the Challenge just so you can remember it for next year’s refresh!

A Searching :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: + Archiving ability might also necessitate the ability to filter the view on the landing page to include/exclude archived, non-archived, completed, in-progress etc. etc. etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think the way this will work is that we’ll remove the ā€œCompletedā€ field and move it into the status and have the options be something like:

  • Incomplete
  • Complete
  • Archived

Search is a good idea. I’ll add that to the roadmap.
