It’s summer here in Australia. So we have the perfect storm of warm weather and Christmas parties, so I felt it was time to make myself a dress.
I was gifted this fabric for my birthday last year. I love everything about it.
I wanted to make good use of the border so I reached for my trusty McCall’s 5770 vintage pattern from the early 1960s with a simple dirndl skirt.
This dress really features the belt, and I had in my stash the perfect green belt buckle purchased from Mood New York in 2011. I cut the fabric to feature the floral border along the length of the belt.
I lined the bodice with a coordination pink lawn (also from my stash) and added a Kylie and the Machine label to top it all off.
This dress will be on high rotation over the Summer season.

Thank you @Mark I sent the belt out to be assembled. But I selected the border print running along the centre of the length of it as a feature
