As your user base and the number of patterns we upload (especially by magic input) grows, you might be able to offer a uniquely rich pattern search.
For example if I have 2.5m of viscose lawn I want to turn into a dress, and I’m looking for patterns I could use, by now, I imagine you could probably tell me a lot of commercial patterns fit those criteria. And it would be an amazing thing to have. (I can also imagine it generating some affiliate income for you if I went on to buy the pattern, win-win!)

They won’t be able to use the pattern data we’ve uploaded - surely that would breach data protection?
I’m in the UK so don’t know about elsewhere, but GDPR for example is generally concerned with personally identifiable information (PII), so things like name, email address, etc.. If it’s data about commercial patterns, from the public web, acquired through Magic Input, I’m pretty sure GDPR wouldn’t apply unless it was accidentally sucking in some PII with it.

Any data collected can only be used for the purpose it was intended for , the usage cannot change without personal approval ( I work in IT so am aware of how data is stored and rules about its usage )

This is a great idea and something we’ve considered. There are number of technical hurdles but it’s definitely not out of the realms of possibility.
