Pie

Pie

I’ve been sewing in one way or another since I was a kid (1970s, Gen Xer) helping my mum with patchwork, theatre costumes, cross stitch, mending, etc. Got into my own dressmaking properly in about 2010, main reasons being concerns over sustainability/business practices with fast fashion, and also poor quality, fit & fabrics in my size (20-22 in most shops). Rarely buy clothes now, either make or buy 2nd hand. Sometimes buy the odd something special, but try to sew/knit it if I can.

In my spare time when I’m not sewing I knit, crochet & quilt (machine and english paper piecing) - I also spin, weave, dye yarn and so on. Knitting & EPP are my first loves, partly because it’s a bit more sociable/portable, so I can watch telly with my husband in the evening/chat to friends while I’m doing it! (I’m pie on Ravelry too).

Other interests: I also have a wildlife garden and 2 black cats called Vince & Nelly who are brother & sister and like to steal yarn & mess up whatever I’m working on.
