Hi!
Do others also have problems with loading up patterns from etsy by magic input?
It usually can’t find pics and finds wrong descriptions.
I wonder if it’s because I use the etsy app in German and everything is automatically translated into German?
I mean it’s no big deal to save the pics and upload “by hand” I was just interested ![]()
I had the same thing. I took screen shots of the images and uploaded them.
Yeah, Etsy doesn’t really work. I think it’s because “traditional” pattern selling sites all kind of have a similar layout, so it’s more predictable for the magic input to identify what is what, but Etsy doesn’t align their pages the same way. I usually end up doing them manually.
Yep, this is the case. I’m afraid Magic Input just doesn’t work great with Etsy. If you have some favourite pattern designers that only sell through Etsy, please send a link to their shops and we can see what we can do.
I have the same. I resort to adding them manually ![]()
You can use Magic Input but Text not URL. Copy and paste in the text from the Etsy page; Stash Hub will sort through it and then add the pictures after Stash Hub has done its thing. It can save a lot of time.
Just a side note here as you mentioned sites in German… Language does not seem to be an issue for the majority of sites I have been using in German and French with Magic Input. Although there is perhaps a wider market of subscribers from non-English speakers (down the line) if Stash Hub itself were to be available in other languages, as it stands now there is relatively little language that needs to be understood in English in order to use the database functions. Kudos to @TheWizard for not only building a system that works for multiple language uploads, but also for developing an internationally applicable and very user-friendly solution.
Thanks @Alison! I do want to add proper translations in the future at which I’ll be reaching out to the community for their help ![]()
