Learning anew technique

I have often thought about cutting out a sample in order to learn some technique that I don’t understand but then just want to get on with the project and often mess it up.

I have started a skirt which I want to line and found a video showing how to line a skirt without hand sewing but looked confusing so I cut a sample out of scraps and had a go.

This is the invisible zipper method but I used a standard zip because I don’t have many. It’s not great sewing but it’s just to get the idea and well worth not messing up the real thing.

Thank you, yes it’s such a great thing to do so hopefully when making the real thing it will go smoothly :winking_face_with_tongue:

@Jayne practicing techniques on scraps is always valuable - I often do the same. I usually then keep the sample with the sewing pattern (in case I make it again and need a refresher/reference on how to do ut again).
