How I use Tags to Filter my PROJECTS 📲

[Originally posted this on the old Facebook Group here https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1QyPNoSUmi/ on 14/07/2023.]

I realised that I was using the PROJECTS section of the app to store lots and lots of things taking up space in my brain :brain: :thought_balloon: which are pretty much just an :bulb: idea only. And, the list was quickly building up :see_no_evil::crazy_face:. Plus, a lot of my projects ideas might not come to fruition for a long while yet :rofl:.

So, I wanted a way to be able to filter down to see :eyes: say… just my :jeans:Trousers and Jeans projects… verses having to scroll :calling::point_left:t3:, n scroll, n scroll down my phone screen.

So, I decided to use custom TAGS.
I decided to create a custom tag for each kind of category a project very loosely. By using an emoji at the start of the text for the “Tag” I’ve found the app automatically places that Tag at the bottom of the list of Tags (see image attached).

:heart_decoration: :running_shirt_with_sash:+ :jeans: Project - Dungarees/Jumpsuit/Overalls
:heart_decoration: :house_with_garden: Project - Homewares
:heart_decoration: :jeans:Project - Trousers
:heart_decoration: :dress: Project - Dress
:heart_decoration: :bikini: Project - Lingerie/Swimwear/Underwear
:heart_decoration: :womans_clothes::tshirt: Project - Top/Shirt
:heart_decoration: :shopping: Project - Bag
:heart_decoration: :billed_cap: Project - Hat
:heart_decoration: :coat: Project - Coat/Jacket

NOTE: There “currently” isn’t a way in the PROJECTS section of the app to filter the view to see only one kind of “thing” (I.e. the ‘Item/Garment Type’ of a given pattern that has been added into the given project). So, for instance you cannot currently ask the app to only show all of your “Skirt” projects, or only “Dresses”.

It took me awhile to understand but the photo really helped.

@ClaireSews thank you for this suggestion; I implemented it when you first posted on FB it works a treat as long as I remember to tag the project😂 My tags/emojis aren’t as fancy as yours but they work.

@JD3205 :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’m happy that it helped you :+1:t3:

Great idea. I didn’t realise I was unable to search for dress as you mentioned above. I will hi definitely use this in my tags. Thanks so much.

@Jax you are most welcome :blush:

I wonder, can you filter in the main patterns section “attached to project” or similar? That way if you have tagged pattens as dress, tshirt, trouser etc, it would be filterable

@Donnas_sewing_room yes that is possible :smiling_face:! I’ve posted a how-to here :backhand_index_pointing_right:t3: TIP: Filtering Patterns for… an attached ‘Project’ + by ‘Item/Garment Type’)
